  • Antroken

    • Subraces include centaurs, nagas, kahanin (dog-like), pharlin (cat-like), chimera
    • Ruled via a democracy, with one head of each race representing their land. Excluding the Chimera
    • Kahanin and Pharlin used to own the south, but had their land taken from them. The two races were involved in a civil war which the Humes took advantage of in order to attack them full force.
    • Kahanin are a dog-like race, mostly made up of warriors. Before and even partially after coming to the West and their democracy, the Kahanin use a class based structure. Peasants have the appearance of common dogs, wolves are leaders, foxes are scouts, hyenas/wild dogs/jackals (dingos, African wild dogs, etc.) are warriors. Though since democracy, breed-based duty isn’t as strict.
    • Pharlin run on a very similar structure to the Kahanin. Housecats are peasants/workers, lions are leaders, cheetahs are scouts, jaguar/leopard/wild cats are workers. Though since democracy, breed-based duty isn’t as strict.
    • Centaurs are very similar to Treeborn. A lot of people consider them to be Treeborn on four legs, or even somehow related to the Elvan. They have excellent sight, are very fast and experts with the bow. They can also sense what the nature around them is feeling, though not as well as the Treeborn. Generally a very relaxed people, though they can be quite self-absorbed and concerned with their appearance. Some are also known to have short tempers.
    • The Naga are considered a divine race and are incredibly rare. They can live for up to a thousand years and live in the mountains, near rivers. They have the ability to disguise themselves as humans for short amounts of time. They go blind as they get older, though they also develop a seer-like ability, able to read an individuals past, present and future. This is why they stay secluded, to avoid meddling in the affairs of everyone else.
    • The Chimera are a very new breed. During the rule of the current King, a plan set in motion to create a race of obedient workers and soldiers that would have animal-like traits and Hume intelligence. This was done by combining animal and human DNA to give birth to a Chimera child. However, despite their efforts, every specimen created still had a mind of its own and was not entirely obedient, was too stupid to be obedient, or was too unstable. Knowing no one could ever know, they were sent to live with the Antroken, who for the most part accepted them. The Chimera are unable to breed, and the oldest is only 25. Though occasionally a new Chimera will be sent to join the tribe, showing they are still working to create a loyal army.

  • Character Outline

    • The Prince: Human son of the latest King, who is basically totally evil. The King, I mean. Generally a complete dick to his people, only wants to be powerful. Rumours that the King wants to wage war on the Elven and the Antroken in order to become King of the entire world.
The Prince, on the other hand, isn’t entirely evil, but still lacks a moral compass and is extremely douchey as a result. He has killed people he considers peasants or insignificant. Though he winds up killing the wrong individual, a Soulborn who uses his power to drain the strength of the Prince and his Guard. Essentially reducing them to what would be level 1.
There is room for him to change, if only because the only cause of his evil is a severe lack of education about the outside world. He’s also very eccentric and campy with a taste for the most expensive things he can get his hands on. Essentially a spoiled brat.
On the quest to get his power back, he has to use a disguise as the royal family is not well loved in his Kingdom, and if word got out that the heir was stripped of his power, he’d be killed in an instant. Very upset about having to disguise as a middle class citizen in order to travel.
Weapon of choice is a longsword.
    • The Guard: An orc that’s risen through the ranks. A very dudebro sort of guy, tends to call everyone variations of the word ‘bro’. Also very fond of fistbumps, though completely ignorant of his own strength he has broken quite a few hands. Not evil at heart, but extremely loyal to The Prince, which makes him do a lot of evil things. More intelligent than an average orc, and excellent at following orders. Also ridiculously strong. Despite being treated like crap by The Prince, he actually thinks he’s being treated rather well.
Very social and loves meeting new people, but has no problem with destroying them if he’s ordered to. Though he has a special spot for farm animals and refuses to hurt them.
Doesn’t mind dressing like a peasant to accompany The Prince.
      Also he has dreadlocks (awesome).
Weapon of choice is his fists. Owns enchanted fire elemental brass knuckles.
    • The Friend: I guess she’s the love interest for The Prince. A childhood friend and noble who has never actually left the castle city. Sort of a dominatrix who kicks The Prince’s ass a lot. He’s actually scared of her on some level. More of a leader than he is. Also a human.
Weapon of choice is dual pistols, one enchanted with fire, one enchanted with lightning.
    • The Elvan: Haven’t decided exactly what kind of Elvan he is yet. But he’s very preachy to begin with, strong believer in nature. Extremely timid though, so shuts up as soon as he’s told. Kind of a hipster in appearance (most Elvan are, or hippy-ish). The more he travels, the more he learns about the world and that technology could have a place in the Elvan world, if only biomedical technology. Becomes fascinated with it as he’s never actually seen it up close.
    • Antroken:Haven’t decided on a species or a story yet. Just want one. Also it’s a girl I guess?
    • Maybe another character to balance all this out? No idea on race or anything yet.
    • Also no idea on antagonists yet either.

  • Humes

    • Subraces include Humans, Dwarves, Nothran (large, warrior like), Orcs (not hume, but not anything else, either)
    • Ruled as a Kingdom, one King or Queen rules over the North and South. There’s only one royal line. Inbreeding is done, though in modern times it’s common practice to breed with nobles.
    • Humans are stock-standard humans, nothing special about them. All rounders, really.
    • Dwarves are engineers, scientists, mathematicians, generally the smartest race. Constantly coming up with innovations, though they’re not good with biology. They’ve been trying to work with the Elven to create a medical science to benefit all, but most Elven are hesitant.
    •  Nothran are a large, barbaric people. The men are commonly mistaken for monsters as they’re mostly covered in hair. Most of the women are, too. They need it for the cold weather, they’re mostly found in the South.
    • Orcs aren’t actually Humes, but they can’t be classified as anything else, either. Some speculate they’re a mix between Nothran and Amphibian Antroken. But no one really knows for sure. Because of this, they’re mostly in slums and used as armies, treated as second class citizens. The Elven consider them abominations and the Antroken are wary of them, like they are of all Humes and Elven.

  • Elven

    • Come in subraces of High Elves (magic based, known as Highborn) Wood Elves (nature based, known as Treeborn) and Dark Elves (spirit based, known as Soulborn)
    • Refuse to use technology unless absolutely necessary. There are two Elven cities that use technology and only in small amounts to keep in contact with the rest of the world.
    • There’s an underground movement, mostly among Elven youth, of smuggling in technology
    • The Elven are ruled by a group of Eldar, Elves chosen at birth, believed to be reincarnations of previous Eldar. The Eldar are believed to be the first Elven, sent from the heavens to bring order to the world and to allow nature to run its course. The Eldar consist of a male and female from each subrace.
    • Highborn are masters of magic. At birth they are assigned an element to focus on, out of water, earth, fire, air, dark or light. Dark magic being forbidden to use on their Elven kin and only in wars. Light magic used as a healing tool. Descendents of Eldars are taught all magic with a focus on none. As a result, they cannot master a particular form.
    • Treeborn can sense the pulse of the Earth and have a way of communicating with both flora and fauna. Not fully able to understand, but to get a basic idea. They tend to have sharp eyesight, sharp enough to see a person’s true nature.
    • Soulborn communicate with spirits and can summon beasts from other realms. They tend to be either summoners or spiritwalkers. Spiritwalkers can communicate with the dead and in some cases, manipulate life energy. Though that is considered taboo among all Elven. Summoners call beasts from a land of demons and chaos and it’s said the Soulborn were created when the taint of a demon spread through a Highborn village.

  • World

    • East belongs to the Antroken
    • West belongs to the Elven
    • North and South belong to the Humes
    • Modern day fantasy, monsters roam the world, technology is equivalent to current times (cars, phones, TV, etc.)
    • Towns/cities are protected by force-field spells to keep out wild animals. All domesticated animals require an implant to be excluded from the spell. Antroken have a stronger bond with animals and don’t require the spells. Hume spells are combined with technology. Elven spells are pure magic, though many villages opt not to use the spell to be closer to nature, only the large Elven cities use it
    • Despite the existence of various guns and modern weapons, swords and bows are still a popular weapon due to being combined with magic. Also guns aren’t effective against thick skinned monsters like dragons or ogres
    • The more dangerous monsters still exist thanks to PETA/Greenpeace-esque movements, mostly started by the Elven, though with members from all races and parts of the world who believe every creature needs to live
    • Animals are similar to ours, but different. The Antroken are different to any existing animal. EG: There are pig Antroken, but no pigs. Instead there are firepigs.
